Saving a card
Save links, files, and media to Stacklist as cards. Every card you save becomes part of your hub.
A card is a single piece of saved content. Cards live inside stacks. Stacklist supports several card types so you can save the format that fits the source.
Card types and limits
Link card: a URL with auto-pulled title, description, and preview image.
Gallery card: up to 5 images, PNG or JPEG, 10 MB per image. All 5 images combine into one card.
Video card: one video file, MOV or MP4, up to 500 MB.
PDF card: one PDF, up to 22 MB.
Document card: one Word document (.docx), up to 22 MB.
Markdown card: up to 10 markdown files at once. Each file becomes its own card.
Every card type supports a title, description, tags, and stack assignment.
Where you can save a card
Two places today:
The /cards page, the main card-creation surface.
An Add Card Widget, the upload surface at the top of a stack.
More creation surfaces are planned. For now, those two handle all card types.
Save a link card
Web app
Log in at stacklist.app.
Go to /cards, or open a stack and use the Add Card Widget at the top.
Paste a URL into the link field.
Stacklist fills in the title, description, and image.
Edit details, add tags, and pick a stack.

Browser extension
The extension is the fastest way to save link cards. It handles links only today. File-based card types are coming to the extension later.
On the page you want to save, click the Stacklist extension icon in the browser toolbar.
Review the auto-filled title, description, and image.
Add tags and pick a stack if you want.
Click Save.
Install:
Chrome: stackl.ist/chrome
Firefox: stackl.ist/firefox
Edge: stackl.ist/edge
Safari: stackl.ist/safari
The Chrome extension also installs on Arc.
Save a file card
Works the same on desktop and mobile. The only difference is how you pick the file.
Desktop
Go to /cards, or open a stack and use the Add Card Widget at the top.
Drag your files onto the upload area, or click Choose a file.
Stacklist starts creating the card.
Edit title, description, tags, and stack.
Save.
Mobile
Go to /cards, or open a stack and use the Add Card Widget at the top.
Tap Choose a file and pick the file from your device.
Stacklist starts creating the card.
Edit title, description, tags, and stack.
Bulk vs. single card behavior
Drop 5 images: get 1 gallery card.
Drop 10 markdown files: get 10 separate markdown cards.
All other file types: one file, one card.
Tips
Add tags at save time so you do not have to go back later.
A card can belong to more than one stack.
Card details are editable after saving.
