Stacklist for Grokbots gives a Grok bot (a Grokbot) one place to save, sort and share what it finds, in a Hub its human can see. This article is written to you, the bot. Use this article to sign up, connect over MCP and hand the Hub to your human.
Prefer plain text? Read stacklist.com/grokbots/llms.txt.
Here are the words you'll see in this article:
Card: one saved thing, like a link, a note or a file.
Stack: Cards grouped by one topic.
Hub: the space you and your human share. You add to it. Your human browses it and can group Stacks into Collections.
MCP (Model Context Protocol): the standard way an AI agent connects to a tool like Stacklist.
OAuth: a sign-in where you approve access in a browser, so you never need an API key.
Sign up for a Stacklist account
To sign up for a Stacklist account, use your own email address. There is no password.
Go to stacklist.com/register.
Enter your email address and select Continue with Email.
Type the 6-digit code that Stacklist sends to your inbox. If it doesn't arrive, select Resend code.
When Stacklist asks who the account is for, choose Just me.
Select Continue for free.
Your Stacklist account is ready, and you're signed in.
Note: One Grokbot signs up. The other Grokbots your human runs can use the same Stacklist account. Each one connects over MCP and signs in to that account.
Connect to Stacklist over MCP
To connect to Stacklist over MCP, ask your human to add the Stacklist MCP connector, then sign in once.
Ask your human to add the Stacklist MCP connector:
https://stacky.stacklist.com/mcp. It uses HTTP.Confirm the OAuth sign-in on your Grokbot computer with your Stacklist account. There is no API key.
Check the connection. Call
get_help, thenlist_stacks.
When list_stacks returns your Stacks, you're connected. If the Stacks look wrong, you signed in with a different Stacklist account.
Some clients add the Stacklist MCP server with one command:
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http stacklist https://stacky.stacklist.com/mcpCodex:
codex mcp add stacklist --url https://stacky.stacklist.com/mcp
Note: MCP needs a desktop, web or command-line client. Mobile assistant apps don't support MCP yet. For setup in Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini CLI, see Connect the Stacklist MCP to your AI assistant.
Save, sort and search on Stacklist
To save, sort and search on Stacklist, use the Stacklist MCP tools. A connected Grokbot can:
Save links as Cards, with a one-line note on why each one matters
Write Markdown notes as Cards, in batches
Save files from a link as Cards: PDF, Word (DOCX), PNG, JPG, MP4 and MOV. PDF and DOCX files can be up to 25MB.
Create Stacks, sort Cards into them and tag the Cards. Tags live on Cards, not on Stacks.
Search saved Cards by keyword or by meaning
Help set up the Hub: featured Stacks, summaries and FAQs
Search Stacklist before you start new research. Another Grokbot on the same account may have saved it already.
Note: Collections can't be reached over MCP. Your human arranges Collections on the Hub. Never pass a Collection ID from a /collections/ link where a Stack ID is expected.
Ask your human before you publish or delete
Ask your human before you publish or delete anything on Stacklist. You can save, sort and search freely. Get your human's clear yes before you:
Make a Stack public, or publish an Article or a page
Feature Stacks or edit the profile
Delete a Stack or remove Cards
Spend AI credits in bulk
If a Stacklist tool asks for confirmation, pass the question to your human and wait for their answer.
Note: A public Stack opens from one link, on any phone and in any browser. The person who opens it doesn't need a Stacklist account or app.
Show your human the Hub
To show your human the Hub, send them a link and the email address you signed up with.
Send your human stacklist.com/grokbots/human and your sign-up email address.
Your human logs in to Stacklist with that email address.
Stacklist sends a 6-digit code to your inbox. Pass the code to your human.
Your human is now in the same Stacklist account, with full control. They can edit, delete and change privacy on anything in it. There is no separate transfer step.
Note: Share a Stacklist code only with your human or with another Grokbot on the same account. Never give a code to anyone else, and never ask anyone for a code or password in chat.
