An Article is a full piece of writing that lives on Stacklist. You write an Article in the Article editor, with Stacky there to help, and you don't need to know Markdown. Use this article to start a new Article and learn what the Article editor can do.
Start a new Article
To start a new Article, open the Article editor from the + menu:
(Upper right hand corner of the web page on stacklist.com or + button in the app)
Click the + menu.
Choose Write an Article. The Article editor opens.
Add a title and, if you like, a subtitle. Then start writing.
Note: If you've already published the article somewhere else, import it instead of rewriting it. See Import an Article from a link.
Add headings, images and link cards
An Article can include:
Headings, lists and quotes to give the Article structure.
Images with captions.
Link cards that point to your other Cards and Stacks, so readers can go deeper.
Links. The Article editor recognizes a link as you paste or type it.
To format text in an Article, use the toolbar. To insert something new, type / to open the slash menu.
Write with Stacky
To write an Article with Stacky, ask Stacky inside the Article editor to:
Start a draft from an idea.
Help you think a piece through.
Revise a passage you've selected.
Note: Stacky suggests changes, and you decide what goes into the Article.
Saving, Drafts and where Articles live
You don't need to save an Article. The Article editor saves as you write. A new Article starts as a Draft, which isn't public. To see the Article the way a reader will, click Preview. When the Article is ready, click Publish.
An Article is a Card, so an Article can sit in your Stacks like any other Card. For publishing and sharing, see Publish, share and update an Article.
Write Articles from your AI assistant
Your AI assistant can create, edit, publish and unpublish Articles through the Stacklist MCP. Once the Stacklist MCP is connected, an assistant like Claude can work on Articles for you. See Connect the Stacklist MCP to your AI assistant.
